Broken Compass – Robbie Daniels

Madeline is a twenty-eight year old, borderline obsessive-compulsive nurse in desperate need of an escape. When her grandmother passes away unexpectedly and leaves her bungalow to her only granddaughter, Madeline jumps at the chance of the fresh start in the Cotswolds.

Alongside her little Scottie dog, Timmy, she settles into the slow-paced village life and soon meets a young paediatric doctor, Freddie. As their romance blossoms and she finds her feet in her new role at the stroke unit, she starts to believe she could have a normal life. Her idyllic fairytale ending is soon threatened when it becomes clear that something in her past is threatening to reveal itself. A series of grisly murders begin, terrifying the locals and someone makes no secret of the fact they are following her every move.

As Madeline battles to keep herself safe, her secrets hidden and her obsessions under control, she realises she cannot outrun her past any longer. Desperately, she tries to create a plan, praying  the police will gather enough evidence to catch her stalker before her time runs out.

Fast paced, this game of cat and mouse is not your average obsessive stalker-thriller. Broken Compass is a deadly twist on the tired tropes in the genre, which begs the question; can you trust your judgement?
