Strong Stuff raises more than £3,000 for local charity


Released at the end of April, Strong Stuff tells the story of young carer Ruby as she finds her world turned upside down when her mother dies. She is then has to decide between a life in foster care or living with her estranged father.

Author, Amy Stone has teamed up with Roundabout, and her author proceeds from this book will go towards supporting the Sheffield based charity. SRL Publishing will also be matching the authors contribution. Amy and SRL Publishing can announce today the amount raised is more than £3,000.

Roundabout is South Yorkshire’s local youth housing charity providing shelter, support, and life skills to young people like Ruby, who are homeless or as risk of homelessness.

Amy, author of Strong Stuff and The Raven Wheel, said “I’m delighted that between us we’ve managed to raise this amount for such a great charity. Roundabout make a huge difference to the lives of young people across South Yorkshire and I’m so proud we’ll be able to help them continue their vital work.”

In addition to helping young people source appropriate accommodation, Roundabout offer wraparound care including practical and emotional support from dedicated key workers. Their key services deliver comprehensive programmes of training, involvement and empowerment which help young people break the cycle of homelessness and develop long term independent living skills.
